Bangkok: Grand Diamond Suites Hotel

Having traveled to Bangkok over 50 times over the years, as much as 7 times a year, flying 3 times BKK in a month. I have stayed in so many different hotels all over Bangkok.

In fact, i'm am staying at this hotel for the third time. Except, this time i'm traveling with a 9 months old baby!

I picked this hotel simply because:

• Location (Overhead Bridge Linkway to Platinum Mall and the opposite which will lead you to Pratunam Market)
• 24 Hours Supermarket in the same building(they sell Mamy Poko diapers, cerealac) 
• Pharmacy in the same building as well
• Starbucks in the lobby!

This hotel is non other than the Grand Diamond Suites!

Located just beside the Platinum Mall and Pantip Plaza with other malls such as Central World, Siam Paragon and Siam Square shopping area all in walking distance. They are a 4-star hotel with 172 rooms and all of them are suites. There are both One and Two-Bedrooms in the property to cater to bigger groups of travelers or even big families.

I stayed in the Junior Suite, it is a One-Bedroom suite.

Junior Suites are equipped with:

Kitchenette with stove and microwave
Ensuite Bathroom with separate Shower room & Bathtub

The hotel also has a famous chinese restaurant that serves dimsum, Tae Chew Restaurant. They also have lunch buffet for their Dim Sum, and the Dim Sum menu is also available on the room service menu.

Otherwise, you can always pop over to the Platinum Mall and have some japanese which my son really enjoyed. 

Overall, this hotel is good and convenient for those who wouldn't be traveling all around Bangkok. The location is definitely unbeatable if shopping is what you are there for.

Hua Hin: G Hua Hin Resort & Mall

G Hua Hin Resort and Mall is a rated 4* modern boutique resort located in Hua Hin city. Its situated on the main street of Phetchkasem Rd, most local driver knows this place. Though it is a city hotel and doesn't have a beachfront, the beach is actually just 150m away.

The resort have a 4 types of rooms and all of their rooms have pool view.

Deluxe Pool View - Pool View, can be interconnected with another room as a Family Room.

Jacuzzi Pool Deluxe - Private Jacuzzi, on the first floor with direct pool access. The only let down is that there isn't much privacy to these units.

Jacuzzi Ocean View Deluxe - Private Jacuzzi, able to catch a glimpse of the ocean, separate shower & open-concept bathtub in room, on the top floor of the building

Jacuzzi Pool Suite - Private Jacuzzi about twice the size of Jacuzzi Deluxe Room, separate shower & open-concept bathtub in room, on the first floor with direct pool access

Other facilities available in the resort like Children's Playground, Gym, Poolside Restaurant, Saltwater Swimming Pool

The resort itself also has its own Supermarket, Pharmacy and also several other shops like local brand Oriental Princess. Money-changing service and ATM is also available on-site. Restaurant and bar opens daily. Room Service is available as well.

You'll do fine even if you do not lift your foot one step out of this resort.

However, if you decide to travel downtown or anywhere else.
Transport can be easily found. You may hop on a songthaew to get downtown for just 15 to 20 baht or you may also hire a taxi for about 1500 baht for a day. Every local driver knows this place, no problem on finding the resort!

I have stayed with them on several occasions, in every type of room they offer. They're simply a great place to stay if you're looking somewhere Cheap & Good.

Rooms are exactly what you see on their website. 

Mainly, they offer four types of rooms:

Room Service is also available till late hours, prices are pretty reasonable. You may also win to dine in at the hotel's restaurant. If you're looking at something else, the night market is just 5 mins away - across the main road's cross junction. You can find street vendors selling food or even fried insects. There are also several restaurants by the road side selling authentic thai food. You may wish to try Somboon Restaurant just outside of the Huai Khwang MRT Station, they're famous for their curry crab. If you're just too lazy for that walk, fret not! 7-11 is approx. 50meters away from the hotel's entrance.

If that isn't great enough, the hotel has a little spa that gives decent massages at 300baht/hr. You may walk down the main street though, some shops offers massage at 200baht/hr.

Do you hate staying in Pratunam and love going places like Union Mall & Chatuchak. This may just be the place for you. It's much nearer getting to these places from here, and you'll definitely be having a much smoother traffic. Taxi Drivers around here rarely haggle taxi fare with you around here. Maybe because the MRT Station is just 3mins away! 

psst! Did i also mention it's also nearer to exciting clubs like Zaleng & Snop on Ratchada Soi 4. It's also easily accessible to Sukhumvit.
